Founded in 1940, the Garden Homes Fire Protection District is one of the last remaining truly volunteer fire departments in Cook County. Our all-volunteer membership operates two engine companies, one squad, and one Basic Life Support ambulance, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Garden Homes is a small section of unincorporated Cook County bordered by Alsip, Merrionette Park, and Chicago.
